Ingredients

  • 4 slices deli salami or mortadella (or sliced chicken breast, turkey, or ham)
  • 3 slices white sandwich bread
  • 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2–3 lettuce leaves
  • Optional: boiled egg, sliced cucumber, onion, or carrot for extra crunch

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden and slightly crisp.
  2. Spread mayonnaise on one slice of toasted bread.
  3. Layer a slice of salami (or chosen meat), a tomato slice, and a cheese slice atop the mayo.
  4. Add another slice of toasted bread, then again layer with meat and a lettuce leaf.
  5. Top with the final slice of bread, repeating the meat and veggie layers if desired.
  6. Slice the sandwich into quarters or halves and secure with a wooden toothpick.
  7. Serve immediately with a side of crispy French fries or a simple side salad.
